Swimsuits and biscuit dough

We are traveling to a tropical resort in 2 weeks for our dear friends' wedding. I had a bit of a panic attack when I realized how quickly the trip is approaching (never mind that we've known for 6 months now).
So I immediately run to my closet and take inventory. It's hard to think about a beachy wardrobe when it's 50 degrees here. Everything summery just makes me want to layer on another piece of clothing. I then realized that I have 1 swimsuit to my name. You see, I'm not much of a swimmer, plus we live in a landlocked state.
So I called around to my go-to stores. 2 out of the 3 laughed at me when I asked, and the 3rd put me on hold and then told me they didn't have any swimsuits, but they were having an excellent sale on sweaters. WTF?
I start to get nervous. Then I hop online and within minutes find myself on the Victoria's Secret website. Jackpot!! They not only have cute (and hopefully flattering) styles, but they also have a mix and match line where you can piece together colors, patterns, and styles to your heart's content. At ~$15-$20 (top) and $14 (bottom), I was elated. I know, I know.......buying a swimsuit online without trying it on first? *Gasp!*

As long as my arse doesn't look like Pillsbury biscuit dough trying to escape out of it's can, I'm happy. We'll see..............

*I used coupon code: 25ITEM for 25% off a single item*
Got this one (mixed striped low-rise bottom w/ a solid pink top)

and this one (mixed solid black hotshorts bottom w/ a black polka dot top)

Disclaimer: I am convinced that I will look just like these models, frolicking on the beach. HA!!!

  1. Cute choices! JCrew is usually my go-to for swim suits, but they're super expensive. I'm going to have to give VS a try next season.

  2. You'll love the VS suits! I've been buying them for years. Very flattering and true to size. I was so excited when they dropped their prices this year. They were on the steep side (at least for this girl) in the past.

Unfortunately when I bought online, not only was it biscuit dough, they were Grands trying to escape.
