L4L

I didn't have a very productive weekend as we had out-of-town guests stay with us. So in between cleaning, entertaining, too many martinis, and more cleaning, there wasn't time for much else. We're working on the kitchen backsplash this week (carrara marble tiles--yay!) so I hope to be able to blog about that soon. And by soon, I mean before 2010 rolls around.........

Meanwhile, here's a "champagne taste on a beer budget" look I contributed to DP's L4L feature. I've always absolutely adored this glam office from Domino......and when I see a room that particularly speaks to me, the wheels in my head (all 2 of them) start turning. Then I muse about how the look can be recreated (on a "normal folks" budget).

I had a lot of fun with this one. If you're bored, click here for the detailed breakdown! =o)

...........and my version of a similar look on a more frugal budget:

  9. Wow, I love this! I have been looking for an idea for our office and this might be perfect (plus our roof runs the same way as the inspiration photo). I love the art wall behind the desk. Amazing!

By the way, thanks for the tip on the Eames chairs...sadly they don't ship to Canada (well, they do but for double the price!) but I hadn't even though of checking Ebay - I will make sure to do that from now on!
