Fabu bamboo

Some decor porn eye candy for this Wednesday........... Chippendale faux bamboo chairs:

(all images courtesy of decorpad)

The designer versions of this chair will cost you a pretty penny (well for frugal folks like me) at ~$650 a chair. I've spied these at Home Goods on a good day and ebay offers a plethora of them every so often but
thank goodness for Copy Cat Chic's spectacular skills, who found these more affordable versions:

Ballard Designs the Macau chair at $279:
Pier 1 the Bellerose chair which makes my wallet even happier at $129.98 (At that price, you can spraypaint it to your liking guiltlessly. I've seen it in person and it's even more gorgeous.):

Of course, I'm wondering how comfortable are they? Although I would gladly forgo comfort for style in this situation....... As Suzie is the only person I know "in real life" who owns the chair, will she be so kind as to divulge her experience? Or anyone else out there who owns one?
(The 1st pic is her actual dining room. I know, right? I battle phases of hating her to pure immature jealousy to wanting to move in with her. Did things just get weird in here?)

Updated with Suzie's response (for anyone considering the Macau chair from Ballard): "Awww, thanks for featuring my dining room! OOhh, I actually purchased the chairs for a little less than $200 each with coupon codes. You know I loves me some codes! The chairs are surprisingly comfy! They are a lot tougher and stronger than I expected them to be as well. The cushions are more off-white than stark white as shown in the photo above, but the whole process was a biatch. They kept sending me chairs with paint chipped off and scratches, so I had to call and get the damaged chairs picked up by UPS (no charge) and then new chairs sent. I think I sent back a total of 4 chairs! But, for all the trouble, they actually sent me a $150 gift certificate so it all balanced out! Let me know if you have any other questions. I can take a close up photo if you'd like!"

Thanks for the helpful input, S!!

Seriously tough, they look so gorgeous, as for the comfort part, there's nothing some off/white cushions can't do...so i guess it's worth it!Too bad we don't have Pier1 in Germany..bummer:(

  18. I want that laptop-friendly office/closet! then I could shut away all of my clutter instead of letting it bother me every day that I walk by it. but then again, I might not stay at my little nook, since it wouldn't have a TV....

  19. I can't seem to choose which among those chairs look the best. They're all gorgeous! But I especially liked the third one only because I love the combination of black and white.
