As I was sifting through my inspiration folder, it dawned on me that I do gravitate towards canopy beds (with or without the drapery) in designs. I blame my childhood, as I always coveted a billowy princess canopy bed.
Instead, I got a white four poster bed with Strawberry Shortcake bedding.

{I have a weekend filled with entertaining the in-laws who are in town (from Iowa) and a wild (no not really) Girl's Night Out thrown in there (which had been scheduled months ago).......now that's going to make an impression on the in-laws. Will be back Tuesday. }

wow, great post. canopy beds make such a dramatic statement no matter what the rest of the space looks like. now i want one!
ReplyDeleteThe bedroom with the turquoise lamps has my heart racing. And the second Domino bedroom with that beautiful fabric draped from the canopy is a long-time favorite of mine.

ReplyDeleteWow, what a great collection of images! I've ALWAYS wanted a canopy bed too. Every time we would get our JC Penney's catalog in the mail, I'd head straight to the pages with the princess beds. I adore that image with the turquoise lamps too. LOVE black and white and turquoise!

ReplyDeleteThere's something about a canopy bed, for some reason I seem to sleep better. When we went on a holiday one time, we had a canopy bed and I just slept like a baby, I wish we had one at home, I would never want to get out of bed.
