Procrastinate

Last night I was supposed to be clearing out the remaining junk in our basement, while Mr. FC made some changes to the basement renovation "blueprints" (really just graph paper & a "to scale" drawing). What I did instead...............

1) Pondered pillows & such for our new sofa. I'd love to hear what you think (love, hate, mehhh):

In other news, I discovered I can force myself thru Hiro's doggie door. He was unimpressed/probably pitied me.

All in all, it was a productive night.
* No wine was consumed in the making of this post.
* Don't look at that horribly visible trash can. Or my ass.
* It's OK to judge me.
Have a lovely weekend!!

  1. You are too CUTE! I really love the 1st scenario but I like the lamp from the 2nd scenario better. :) Just food for thought. I am always in love with your style.

    Cheers~

  2. I like Scenario 1 - love those big pillows. And I agree with the first commenter, I like the 2nd lamp better (and it's cheaper). :) The sofa is to die for!

  3. Girl, you are too funny! Love scenario one. That sofa is so gorge.

  4. I like the pillows in #1 and the lamp from #2... Tam recently got some pillows that looks kinda like those. They were more of an ikat print though. I think they were only $20 each.

  5. I vote scenario 1 with lamp #2

  6. Senario 1 all the way. Love love LOVE that lamp!

...and I'm curious the events that led up to you forcing yourself through a doggy door...

  7. Are you suuureee no wine was involved? LOL....I love #2! Crazy about that couch!

  8. I like pillow + lamp combo #2 best. That couch is fab!
Does it freak you out that you can get through your doggie door? What if skinny midgets decided to rob your house? Maybe there's a locking mechanism on the doggie door? I've never had one, so I wouldn't know. Sorry to be Debbie Downer. ;)

  9. #2 I like the pop of color from the center pillow, and it gives you more options with accessories, tables, etc to tie it all in.

  10. Love your feedback! Keep 'em coming!!

@ Lynett: I swear there was no wine involved...just hard liquor. KIDDING!! Just felt a little insane from basement reno.

@ Mrs. 5C: That thought TOTALLY crossed our minds!! LOL! I also wondered if other neighborhood dogs wander in when we're not home & Hiro has a total raging party while we're @ work. HA! We just cross our fingers that Hiro's ferocious bark & security guard duties will keep out the robbers. (Plus we only keep the door up if we're gone for a while.)

  11. I like the first lamp and the second set of pillows. I feel like I've seen the second lamp used a lot, so perhaps that's why I'm leaning towards the other one.

I can't wait to have a doggie door...the first time Baxter uses it, I'll probably cry since I currently live in a condo and he doesn't have all that much freedom to roam and explore. Hm...I am way too emotional right now.

  12. LOL...you are SO FREAKING ADORABLE! (And yes, I'm way jealous cause there's no way I could squeeze my a** through Hiro's doggy door!)

Option #1 lamp with Option #2 pillows. Just because I like to be difficult ;)

  13. You are so funny...and too cute. I like the pillows you've chosen, but that couch is screaming for some orange. Do you hear it too?

  14. Dear Lord, I think we're soulmates. I actually can't believe you waited this long to try the doggie door. For sure, it would have been the first thing we tried. (I'm fairly certain Ryan would have tried it, too.)

And, I love both scenarios. Anything you touch turns to gold, FC. My touch mostly just rust. So, I trust you. ;)

  15. I'm sorry I'm not help! I like both sets. I guess it depends on if you want that pop of color or a more muted palette. Can't wait to see what you pick!

  16. I love scenario #1. Love love love. If I can offer my totally unsolicited and not at all qualified opinion, based on internet stalking alone it seems like scenario #2 is more your style. What am I saying? How do I know?

  17. Fun fun fun. You look like you are about 12 in these shots. How cute are you?!

And your dog has quite the sailor's mouth. Love it.

  18. I like scenario #1, especially the lamp. (I've had my eye on that Pier 1 bird pillow too!) But cassie's comment did get me stuck on a pop of orange... it would look great with the couch!

  19. ~ I like Scenario #1
~ I love that you fit through your doggy door
~ I adore that your trash can is visible, it can't all be perfect right?!

  20. I like scenario #2, yellow and gray are a nice combination. Good luck choosing.

  21. I'm going to go for number two! I love that andalucia pillow. It has such an awesome design!

  22. Love no. 1 the best!!! Like the lamp, pillow and dragon fly pillow best. Kudos to you for being able to fit your whole self (and your booty) thru the doggie door. Anyone who can do that over the age of 21+ should be commended and has the right to post it!

    ReplyDelete
  23. p.s. I meant "bird" pillow not dragon fly, sorry! I can't even blame it on wine yet either. lol.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I like option 2! And, I don't believe there was NO wine involved. There must still be some in your system somewhere! I just ordered a little kitty door....so, we'll see how many drinks it takes for me to try to stick my head through it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I am going with option number 2.

I love the PB pillows in both. But I really like the lamp and that dwell pillow in the 2nd best

    ReplyDelete
  26. I prefer option #1--the red in the pillow brightens up the grey more than the yellow does. And lamp #2!

PS I bought black paint for my front door...will paint it as soon as the rain disappears. From a neighbor in Fort Collins....

  27. Scenario 2. I'm not totally crazy about the lamp shade in scenario 1.

    ReplyDelete
  28. bwahahaha! You made my day with the doggy door!

    I love option 2!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I LOVE the lamp in #1, I love the Pottery Barn pillows in both, and I just bought the Dwell pillow in #2 (only in blue and lime)!

I totally used to shove myself through the doggy door at my ex's. Then again, I was 17. LMAO! Forever young, bay-be!

  30. ohmgawd, you crack me up. how did i miss this post?!

  31. Definitely scenario 1. I LOVE that pillow! I love how you've mixed the geometric pattern with a more natural embroidered pillow. The the different styles work really well together. It also gives you the option to use another textured pillow in the mix and it won't be overwhelming. Plus it's oh so chic to mix vintage with modern! NUMBER ONE! NUMBER ONE!

  32. Hi, there. I have never posted before but have been following you for a while and mercilessly copying your ideas :) Have you thought about orange in your living room? I think it would look fantastic against your grey sofa.
