Serena & Sarcasm

I've been dreaming of the Oly Serena Capiz Drum pendant for months.
Can someone please invent a knockoff of this gorgeousness for folks like myself who married for stupid love and not money because I was naive are frugal?
I spotted the Serena at my local HW Home for a cool $2,850.00. Damn.

It's times like these where I'll glare at Mr. FC and mutter: "I should have married rich."
And Mr. FC's all: "Who's Rich?"
True convo. For realsies.

What item are you coveting for your home right now?
If you've got loads of money and have everything you want, well then, good for you..........
also, let's be friends!

P.S. I really do love my husband. I guess.

  1. Sigh, HW Home. We have a friend who tore down and rebuilt a house in Boulder and HW Home did the interior design for her (she's now in design school, which I find fascinating since she hired it out the first time, but that's a side note). Anyway, the house is flipping gorgeous. As is this chandy. Wow, way to make this whole comment about yourself, Emily.

  2. Too bad you can't "like" things like you do on facebook. Because I'd "like" the chandelier. And Mr. FC's response. And Emily's comment.

  3. The chandelier is pretty awesome. And the first two comments cracked me up.

  5. I had this conversation with myself the other day when I was watching a bunch of dumbwads who've won the lottery (on TLC, duh). I thought, 'Cassie, if you had all the money in the world, would you design differently? What if you could choose things JUST BECAUSE YOU LOVED THEM, not because they are a clearanced out knock-off?!"

    I'm stand-offish...so I never got an answer.

  6. Haha. Those darned fairly tales we watch growing up TOTALLY sway us to marry for love and not money. Don't feel bad, I think of that sometimes, too. :) My hubby and I are still young, so I'll just train him to make the big bucks. Somehow.

  7. why is something that is such a cheap commodity (capiz) so expensive? 'm sure someone in asia already made a knock off but you would need to buy a whole train container full.

  8. haha you crack me up! love the light fixture.

  9. This looks like it could be a great DIY project, and yet, it does seem so much easier to just have the money to purchase :)

  10. What I want is not as glamorous...it's recessed lighting throughout my condo. I just can't justify the expense. Boo hooo.

  11. I want a master bedroom you could play an official NBA game in. Like Cassie, I covet the cash on those "The Lottery Changed My Life" shows but I don't wanna be most of the winners ;)

  12. LOL! I love all of the comments on this post!

  13. I definitely see the asian influence with this lovely chandy. :) I adore so many chandys that utilize the lovely capiz shell.

I agree about marrying rich. I should have married money and had Mr. B on the side. Imagine the love nest I could have created for us! {us meaning Mr. B & me} -- I think the "us" as in you and me would only work in a "sister wives" scenario. :)

    Cheers~

  14. Oh...and if money was no option...there are so many things I would want...but I would have to have a couple of homes: urban loft, beach cottage, and farmhouse estate. :)

I will take those 3 and we can decorate accordingly.

    Cheers~

  15. Ah yes. I also married for love instead of money. Next time, I will know better ;)

I really want a new sofa - wasn't thinking when I picked a chocolate brown sofa when we have a white dog. Again, next time I will know better!

  20. I laughed out loud when I read this. It's a SHAME you and Mr. FC don't live closer. We'd totally have you two over for a dinner party. And lots of cocktails.

  23. This is seriously pretty. I have nothing productive to add, but I wanted you to know I approve.

    I know, you care.

But, your discussion with Mr. FC is seriously cracking me up. Rich....

  24. I wasn't going to tell you this but I get high while reading your blog....

  25. Um, I couldn't afford that if it was $280. It's gorgeous, though. I can't even imagine having that amount of money free - not dedicated to other things...wow.

And I'm also in it for love. Sucks sometimes, doesn't it? My friends have these wealthy significant others.

    Sigh.

  26. Okay, you seriously have to know who the Anonymous pot smoker is... right? It's one of your friends fucking with us? OR Mr. FC mad cause you're picking on him?

Did you see this pendant in the November BH&G, page 70? The article says, "Updating the antiquated systems took most of the couple's budget, so when it came to the decor, ingenuity, not deep pockets, saved the day". Took most of their budget, save the $6,000 it cost them for lighting in two rooms, apparently. I call foul.
