Hi! Love your blog. Can you tell me, where did you get the brown boots in your fall family photos?
Thx so much! Boots are Michael Kors riding boots from 2011 that I got for way marked down at TJ Maxx last year ($150 I think).xoxo
I stumbled on your blog Googling ceramic tile plank style and just wanted to say I hope you keep posting, even if it isn't frequently! I've loved looking at your house pictures - we're moving into our first home soon and I can't wait to renovate. Also, your beautiful dog looks so much like mine from when I was growing up it brought tears to me eyes! (He was a golden retriever/border collie mix). Sorry that you lost him recently :( Stephanie
I am so behind on responding to your sweet email, so sorry!! I just wanted to tell you how heartwarming it was to read your kind words & that it made me grin like a fool. Thank you so very much for taking the time out of your day to drop by my blog. =]Your condolences for our sweet Hiro are much appreciated. We miss him dearly. (We always had a suspicion he was a Border Collie/Golden mix! You might've just confirmed it!)All the best w/ your home reno & congrats on your 1st home!xoxo
How do I get your posts through email? Thanks!
Hi Heather! You know, I've never had that question come up. Ha! I've always had the Google connect follow feature but not much else. Thanks to you, I've added a FOLLOW BY EMAIL button on my sidebar. Thanks for asking & for helping me to continue to improve my ol' blog! Most of all, thank you so much for taking the time to drop by!!xoxo
Hi - I just read your blog entries about your kitchen remodel. I love everything you did (especially the marble tile) and I too have a tiny small kitchen space that we are updating on a budget. Could you tell me what countertops you have and where you got them? Thanks so much!
Thanks, Holly! Our countertops are laminate counters from Home Depot from 2008. I *think* the color was called 'Smoke' (it's a charcoal grey). Pretty inexpensive & very durable. Hope this helps! Thanks so much for dropping by!
where did you get your bathroom floor tiles?
Sorry to be stalker-like, but I am now obsessed with your new front door (the one you just did on your new mudroom). Would you mind sharing the details of where you got it, price, etc? Thanks in advance! - kate
Sorry to be stalker-like, but I am now obsessed with your new front door (part of your new mudroom addition). Would you mind sharing the details of where you found it, price, etc? Thanks in advance?- kate
Thank you, Kate! So sorry for my delayed response, a bit behind on blog emails. The door was purchased from Home Depot:brand: Feather Riverstyle: 6 Lite SDL Craftsman wood grain fiberglass (NOT wood, but more durable), chestnut mahogany finishSKU #174-370Feather River #FF3791price: $450 range I think, I'm sorry I can't recall exactly, definitely under $500I don't see an email address for you, but if you'd like I can email you a pic of the label/dimensions that I took. Hope this helps!
I just saw that door at HD. VERY nice!
Hello!I stumbled across your blog on pinterest and have absolutely fallen in love with the renovations you have made to your home. I have literally spent all day stalking your blog. From that, I have gleaned that you might live in Colorado? My husband and I just purchased a home almost a year ago in Littleton. In fact, I believe our homes are almost the same exact layout. Anyway, we have done a lot of renovations (minor in comparison) and starting in the Spring we are looking at moving toward the exterior of our home, with the priority being paint. If you do in fact live in Colorado, would you mind sharing your painters info and what they quoted you? We, too, need a lot of rotted siding/trim replaced. Thank you for sharing everything you have thus far!Lauren
Hi Lauren,Thank you so much for your kind words! The painters we used are actually no longer in business as our neighbors tried to use them as well & found out that bit of info. I do recall that entire job cost $2000 (prep, prime, paint, replacing boards, supplies) but that was about 4 years ago.Sorry I can't be of more help! Happy renovating & thank you so much for dropping by!(Hope you will see this as I don't think I have your email!)
I am new to the blogging thing so I wasn't sure the best way to contact you. SO, I just thought I would check to see if you responded, which you had. Thank you for your response! I am sorry to hear that they are out of business, it looks as though they did an amazing job. Thanks again.
It was my pleasure! Welcome to this wonderful world of blogging :)xoxo
Hello, I just stumbled upon your blog through pinterest searching for Grant Beige color match and your paint looks great! I am going to get Grant Beige matched at Sherwin Williams also, and I am just wondering if they gave you an equivalent and if so, what number/name was it. Or if they did a custom and if you have any info on the color match they came up with. Thanks,Staci
Hi Staci!Thank you! If you wouldn't mind sending me an email, I'd be happy to snap a pic of the paint formula SW mixed & email it to you. I'm pretty sure we still have the can, just have to dig it up when the little one goes down for her nap :-)xoxo
Hi! I love your tip with the Ivetta Black slate tile from Lowe's! I just went there yesterday and they still have it- same price! but wondering if you had to sift thru the box of tile and pick out the tiles that were the most uniform in color....there seems to be a little variation in color, yet the mudroom pic on your blog looks like a very consistent "slate" color. Did you go thru the box and use only those tiles that looked consistent in color? Or did you just use all the tiles in the box as-is? Thanks!!Jenny
Hi Jenny!Yes, we actually brought the boxes home, laid out the tiles, & returned the ones we didn't like. We went for the more slate-like ones & veiny ones with more "movement" to mimic real stone. Not so much choosing the consistent colored ones but rather looking for realistic slate ones. We liked the variations but there were some tiles that were too "off" looking so those got returned. Lowes refunded us per tile, so even though we returned a partially full box, it was fine. Hope this helps!xoxo
Hi! I came across your blog while searching for tile. I specifically love the floor tile used in the basement reno bathroom. I was wondering if you knew the series name for that tile. I am having a difficult time sourcing the tile with just the color name. Thanks for your time!
Hi!Thank you! It's been a few years but I recall that the tiles were from Crossville Ceramics' 'Plan' series, color Lead. At least that's what the box said when I referenced it to write this blog post:http://freckleschick.blogspot.com/2012/03/plank-bathroom-floor-tiles.htmlI'm not sure if they've renamed anything. I hope this helps you to track the tiles down!
Let's get weird up in here.xoxo~Freckles Chick~
